Despite being founded in 2011, this was Kinjas first step into competitive football. Kinjas aim is simply, to slowly progress and rise up the football league system and become a football league club. Kinja begun there journey by playing in the Cherry Red Books Middlesex County Football League, most specifically in the Jeff Nardin Division. Seven teams compete in the division, playing each over three times, Kinjas season begun on the 22nd of September.
September-
Kinja were handed a home game against Wiseman West Fc on the 22nd September. On what would certainly be an exciting day for everyone associated with Kinja, however the mood was quickly dampened however as Kinja fell to a 4-2 defeat. It defiantly was not the start Kinja would of wanted however one positive that Kinja will take from the game is the well taken double and man of the match worth performance form midfielder Stefan Diaz. Its back to the drawing board for Kinja heading into there next match, an away match against struggling Hillingdon Reserves. Hillingdon had already played two games heading into there home match against Kinja, losing both. News of those back to back defeats would be filling Kinja full off confidence. Confidence was not enough to carry Kinja to victory however as Kinja slumped to another 4-2 defeat. Two defeats in a row will certainly be leaving Kinja worried, however Kinja would of certainly not expected an easy ride in there competitive debut.
October-
Heading into October Kinja went back to the drawing board and assed there approach. With there game against high flying and early favourites, Ickenham coming up, Kinja knew they would have to be at the top off there game. Ickenham had already scored 35 goals in 3 games, conceding only 5 heading in to the game, so Kinja knew that an early goal and a hard fought defence display would be key and that’s exactly would they did. Scoring early on in the first half, Kinja managed to hold off Ickenham until the 75th minute where they unfortunately conceded. Despite not being able to hold onto the win, Kinja did hold on for a point and thus earning there first point in there competitive debut. Kinja followed up there excellent performance against Ickenham with a convincing 4-0 win against top of the table Kodak Reserves, rounding off what can only be described as a phenomenal October.
November-
Looking back at October, Kinja would off been full of optimism. Saturday 3rd November marked an opportunity to continue there excellent form with an away trip to Valhalla Sports and Social. Valhalla are on a similar run off form as Kinja and currently sat above Kinja in the table, however none of this was noticeable as Kinja thrashed Valhall 7-0, showcasing there tremendous progress, however this progress would be short-lived as they slumped to a disappointing 5-4 defat at home to Hillingdon Reserves. It was key that Kinja bounced back and continued there impressive away form with a trip to AFC Heathrow, a thrilling game saw Kinja comeback from 2-0 down to win 4-3, continuing there impressive away form and heading into there final games of the year on a positive note.
December-
December is a busy time for multiple reasons and for this reason Kinja only played one game, an away game against Ickenham. Ickenham remained top and certainly provided a tough test for Kinja. A thrilling first half saw both teams level with the score at 3-3, but it was Kinja who ran out the winners scoring 3 in a 6-4 thriller. This result ensured that Kinja’s excellent away form remained intact and that Kinja started 2019 (there first full year in competitive football) on a winning note.
January-
January is a busy month with Kinja playing four times, and there first game of the month was an away game against Kodak Reserves. Now you wouldn’t be mistaken if you thought Kinja will still recovering from a new years hangover as they were thrashed 5-0, blowing away there impressive away form tag. Kinja returned home for there next two games and despite picking themselves back up by comfortably beating Valhalla Sports and Social 3-0 but immediately brought straight back down with a 6-2 defeat to AFC Heathrow a game in which they were leading 2-0 at half-time. Kinjas disappointing month was rounded off with them conceding yet another 2-0 half-time lead to draw 2-2 away to home against Hillingdon Reserves.
February-
February was yet another disappointing month for Kinja and certainly wasn’t spelling success for there first competitive season. The month started strong for Kinja and looked to put a disappointing January behind them with an impressive 5-1 victory at home against Valhalla Sports and Social, although this unfortunately didn’t spell the beginning of a successful month for Kinja. A narrow 1-0 home defeat to Ickenham where Kinja were very unlucky not to get a result out of the game and missed numerous key chances and there confidence was certainly shot as shown in there away game against Kodak Reserves where they were very lucky to only lose 3-1. With 3 games and the title out of reach Kinja were simply playing for pride and currently sat in 5th heading into March.
March-
March begun on a high for Kinja as they fought hard to secure a 1-1 against title contenders wiseman west, a late goal securing the point, pushing Kinja up to fourth place, although a 3-2 defeat against AFC Heathrow meant that they would not be sitting comfortably in fourth and certainly meant they would need to keep a close eye on results.
April-
As April came around and with that Kinja were greeted with the news that they would be 100% confirmed to finish fourth, no lower and no higher. A season full of ups and downs, promising results and disappointing results a fourth place finish will certainly be of some joy to those who run Kinja at the end of there first competitive game. Kinjas final game of the season took place on the 13th April away to Wiseman West in what was certainly a thrilling game, with the game level at 1-1 at half-time, Kinja came out in the second half and scored 4 times to record a 5-1 victory and end there season on a high.
Summary-
Looking back at the season Kinja must be feeling pleased with how the season went. Kinja ended up finishing fourth on 24 points, 10 wins, 2 draws and 8 defeats. Kinja scored 51 goals and conceded 44. Finishing fourth in your first competitive season is nothing to be disheartened about and what it does is it gives Kinja lots to reflect and build on. There were plenty of positive results but also plenty of dissopointing results but Kinja must use every result and every moment to build something special next season, one player that will certainly be at the front of that is top scorer Kabir Soodi who scored 11 goals in 11 apperences. Perhaps a title push could be on the cards next season.
